When interacting with families, finding common ground is critical. Taking multiple perspectives on a situation can help providers identify a common place where we can join with families. This requires reflecting on all points of view: one’s own, the child’s, and that of their family members. In this webinar, you will learn how to use perspective-taking to connect with families around their child’s care and development.

This course is a part of the Strengths-Based Family Engagement Workshop Series. Building relationships with families is one of the most important things that a provider can do in supporting both the child and their family. Yet, building collaborative, trusting relationships is not always easy. Research shows that using a strengths-based approach to family engagement supports the well-being of the family.

In this series, you will learn strategies that you can immediately apply to your work to further cultivate a strengths-based mindset in your work with families. Each workshop is 1.5 hours, and participants receive a certificate of attendance. Register for each webinar individually or sign up for the whole series.
