Jan2022.Touchpoints in Libraries: Understanding Child Development and Engaging Families

Description
Beginning January 10, 2022

Touchpoints in Libraries focuses on understanding a child’s developmental process from birth to 6 years, and connecting with families through strengths-based interactions. Library staff can apply knowledge and skills learned from this course to strengthen their interactions with families and inform programs and services.

This course consists of eight modules and is carried out with a small cohort of other library staff from around the country. Each module will take approximately 3.0 hours to complete (90 minute live session, 90 minute online work). Modules are followed by six monthly one-hour virtual reflective practice sessions.

  • Identify opportunities to connect with and support families in daily library interactions including moments that feel challenging for them and for you
